K-Rad #75 K-RAD will be laying down tasty abstract hip-hop, downtempo, dub and trip hop treasures! Ole!
Ingrid Hakanson began a career in electronic music in 2000 when a friend handed her a microphone during his set at a party in Vancouver, BC. Since then, Ingrid has made a name for herself in Vancouver as one of the area’s first live improvisational vocalists in the house music scene.
Ingrid’s tracks have enjoyed worldwide success as she continues to gain popularity as a respected writer and performer of various house vocal styles. Releases such as ‘Out of Touch’ with Dave Armstrong (2003) and ‘Freak for You’ and ‘Luscious’ with Swirl People (2007), and 'Part of Mine' with Massimo DaCosta (2008) have brought her amazing talent to the forefront of the house music scene. Appearing often as a live vocalist in her home town, Ingrid has also toured worldwide on the west coast with local and out-of-town DJs such as Carlos Mendoza (LCG), Ken Christensen (ECB), Luke McKeehan (Nordic Trax), Jon Lee (Tilted), Jason Tokita, Asad Rizvi (Reverberations), Raoul Belmans (Aroma), Massimo DaCosta (Aroma), Andy Clockwork (Clocktower Records), and several local BC and Seattle DJs.
This year’s releases with LawnChair Generals, Swirl People, Asad Rizvi, and Jay West will continue to elevate her status as one of house music’s most sought-after vocalists, allowing audiences worldwide to experience her strong live performances and stage presence. Ingrid is currently in the studio working on a full length album to be released in the coming year.

Neighbour 67 myspace The newest 12" on Homebreakin Records is dripping with that sticky, battery-acid tastin' funk straight outta the early eighties. Neighbour plugs in and electric slides his way out of the seventies and into the boogie action of the early eighties all the while keeping cool with a left coast attitude and a keen ear for melody. Do not miss this release; reviewed in XLR8R for May 2008, Turntablelab top 5, and Beatstreet.ca favourite. Homebreakin's disco-dub-funk champion has a brand-new release on Florida's Agave Records! This four-track Vinyl EP is available now at your favourite stores, including Juno, Primal, and Tweekin. It ranges from deep, driving disco dubs, to retro-leaning electrofunk and has already been well received by house and breaks heads worldwide. Snailrider aka #02 Snailz aka Morris Kode (Kali Smith) found his passion for electronic music one late night back in 96. Two years later he bought his first pair of 1200’s and started working on his craft. Going by the name kaliflower He started mixing house / breaks and dabbling in idm/glitch, jungle, triphop and downtemp. In 2004 he started mixing and producing a minimal glitchy techno and created a sound to call his own. Using minimal techno as a back drop, he drops and manipulates sounds, samples and glitches, while creating a groovy funk with a snailish bass heavy rhythm for the crowd to enjoy. Kali has played a number of parties, festivals and clubs from Victoria to Montreal, while successfully holding down club nights in Whistler and Vancouver. He has played alongside great artist like Sammy Dee, Alexander Robotnik, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Kool Keith, Safety Scissors, Pan Pot, Exercise One, Funkstorung, Lexancuplt, The Mole, Lowfish, Solvent, Stewart Walker, Konrad Black and many more. This year he will be teaming up with long time friend and label mate Sneaks to produce a organic sounding minimal techno. Look for Standardmethod to here future releases and info.
